Israel on Campus
Israel on Campus is a pluralistic organization catering to the different ideas and understandings of Israeli life. Through programming and workshops focused on the rich culture and social advances of Israeli society, Israel on Campus demonstrates the vivacity and flavor of Israeli life. Our programs focus on different aspects of Israel, be it political, social, societal or cultural perspectives.
Israel on Campus is a non denominational student run organization which advocates on behalf of the State of Israel. This advocacy work is done in a two pronged approach; one, being political and the other cultural. Politically IOC works on Campus by providing an alternative to the revisionist, anti-Israel propaganda spread on Campus and the media. Along with responding to anti-Israel attacks, IOC takes a central role in spreading a positive message regarding Israel’s constant attempts at regional peace, by providing students with more balanced reports on the political scene in the Middle East. Culturally, Israel is one of the most open, and fair societies not only in the Middle East but in the world. Be it Israel’s advancements in technology and science, or its openness and sensitivity to equal rights, for example the LGBT community, or the status of women in society. Israel has lots to contribute to the world, but this is often disregarded in its entirety thru biased and slanted news coverage. Thru partnership with other campus groups and other interesting programming, IOC aims to show the students of Western the side of Israel and Israeli culture which is ignored in todays media.
