First Years & Hillel

Starting college is one of the most exciting experiences of life and Western Hillel is committed to ensuring that your experience is just that much better!  We make this happen by devoting a host of programs developed just for you.  Every September,  1st year students have the opportunity to apply for leadership positions on our first year executive and council.  This is a great opportunity to get involved and meet new people.  At the same time you’ll be expanding your social network, working side by side with upper year students on programs of your own interest.

Leading the tribe not for you?  No worries, with Hillel’s busy calendar of programming you’ll find just what you are looking for to meet your busy schedule.  Whether it’s an intimate Shabbat dinner, a charity baseball game or just partying the night away with friends for a good cause, we have something every student at Western wants.

Most of all, we would love to meet you.  Find us on campus during clubs week or at one of our events. And remember the Hillel House is just outside the Richmond gates, a 5 minute walk from Elgin and Alumni Residences.  Feel free to pop in and use the house as quite study space, or somewhere to kick back with friends in between classes.
